Inclement Weather and Event Cancellation Policy

Winter weather is here and that may mean there are times we should not expect you to place yourselves in unsafe conditions to participate in our church activities. Therefore, we have adopted a policy to guide our decision-making and communication process in the event of inclement weather.

The cancellation guidelines for FBC activities are as follows:

Sunday morning activities will never be cancelled.

All evening activities (all days of the week) — a decision will be made between 3:00 and 3:30 p.m. the day of activities.

Weekday morning and afternoon activities will be cancelled when the Shawnee Mission School District cancels.

Saturday activities—a decision will be made no later that 8:15 a.m. for morning and afternoon activities and 3:30 p.m. for evening activities.

The Senior Pastor and Chairman of the Deacon Board (or their duly appointed representatives) will consult together and are responsible for making the decision to cancel church activities.

Cancellations will be announced on the church answering system and website and on local media stations as will allow.
